How to Make your Insurance Claim

Search for your device manufacturer name and your location. For example, if you have a Samsung device and live in Mumbai, search for ‘Samsung authorised repair centre Mumbai’ in your web browser.

This page tells you how to make a claim against the complimentary insurance provided to you with your Fone Essential security package.

Making a repair claim for accidental or water damage:

phone-in-waterYour repair must be made by an authorised repairer. Authorised repairers near you are detailed on the website of your device manufacturer

You must follow these steps in order to have your claim paid:

  1. Check the website of your phone manufacturer for approved repairer (do a web search for the manufacturer of your device and your location, for example if you have a broken Samsung and you live in Mumbai, search ‘Authorised Samsung repairer, Mumbai’)
  2. Original purchase invoice/payment receipt/bank statement confirming proof of purchase
  3. Service Engineer’s report on damages and repairs
  4. Repair invoice
  5. Photograph of the damaged item
  6. Copy of your PAN card, Proof of address and a cancelled cheque
  7. Fill out your claim form and sign Download claim form

Making a replacement claim for theft, loss or devices deemed beyond economical repair by an authorised repairer:

You need to report your theft/loss to the Police and acquire a Police Report. This should be completed within 48 hours of the theft/accidental loss.

You must follow these steps in order to have your claim paid:

  1. Check the website of your phone manufacturer for approved repairer (do a web search for the manufacturer of your device and your location, for example if you have a broken Samsung and you live in Mumbai, search ‘Authorised Samsung repairer, Mumbai’)
  2. Original purchase invoice/payment receipt/bank statement confirming proof of purchase
  3. Service Engineer’s report on damages and repairs
  4. Repair invoice
  5. Photograph of the damaged item
  6. FIR/acknowledged police complaint (incase of theft)
  7. Copy of your PAN card, Proof of address and a cancelled cheque
  8. Fill out your claim form and sign Download claim form

What happens next?

  1. Your claim will be sent to The New India Assurance Company Limited, who will check that it fits the criteria and you have provided all of the information
  2. You will receive notification of whether your claim has been accepted or rejected at the email address you provided to FoneEssential
  3. The New India Assurance Company Limited will transfer funds to the account you have detailed in the claim form.

a. For Repairs: The cost of the repair detailed on your repairs invoice will be refunded with an excess of 5% of claim subject to a minimum of Rs 500 for each and every claim will be deducted

b. For Replacements: The value will be based on the depreciation of your phone (see table below), and an excess of 5% of claim subject to a minimum of Rs 500 for each and every claim will be deducted
